<br><br>Andrey Yurievich Brezhnev (March 15, 1961, Moscow – July 10, 2018, Sevastopol) – Soviet economist and Russian politician, grandson of the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Social Justice (2014-2016).<br>Biography<br>Born on March 15, 1961 in the family of Yuri Leonidovich Brezhnev.<br><br>In 1983 he graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the USSR of Foreign Affairs.<br><br>In 1983-1985 he worked as an engineer at the Soyuzkhimexport foreign trade association of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Trade.<br><br>From 1985 to 1988 he was an attaché of the Department of International Economic Organizations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1989-1991 – Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the of Trade.<br><br>In the post-Soviet period, he worked in various commercial structures (1991-1997).<br><br>In 1996-1998, he headed the Children – Hope of the Future charitable foundation.<br>Political activity<br>In 1998-2001, he organized and headed the All-Russian Communist Social (OKOD) as General Secretary.<br><br>In 1999, in the elections for the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, he put forward his candidacy, but the election commission refused to register Andrei Brezhnev.<br><br>In 1999, he was nominated as a candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia at the elections of the vice-mayor of Moscow, but the election commission refused to register her, and then he was nominated as a self-nominated candidate and registered, but received 0.61% of the vote as a result of the elections. He died on July 10, 2018 from a heart attack.
