On the banners was the inscription: „In remembrance of the exploits of the Guards troops in 1812, 1813 and 1814.” The cross and corners are white, the shafts are also white.In 1877, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th battalions of the Life Guards of the Garrison Regiment were awarded the St. George flags of the 1857 guards model (yellow cross, red medallions).The Life Guards Reserve Regiment in 1899 was awarded the St. George Jubilee Banner with the image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The cloth of the banner is red with silver, the border is red.Regimental temple<br>Initially, officers and soldiers of the regiment prayed in the Admiralty Cathedral. On May 13 (25), 1897, a church was laid in the regimental arena behind the Mariinsky Palace. The work was carried out according to the project of the engineer-captain N.I. Poleshko with funds raised by the officers and donated by the merchant A. Ya. Lipskerov. The consecration of the church on January 25 (February 6) 1898 in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was performed by Protopresbyter A. A. Zhelobovsky, co-served by Archpriest John Sergiev. The celebration was attended by Nicholas II. The church was separated from the rest of the premises by a sliding partition. The church had a single-tiered white and gold iconostasis. The utensils were donated by the commander of the Moscow Life Guards Regiment, Major General A. I. Dzichkants, and Yu. S. Nechaev-Maltsev donated two large candlesticks made of colored crystal. From the side of Kazanskaya Street, above the gate, there was a belfry with a dome. In 1901, the temple was renovated. The church was closed on May 27, 1922. The building was transferred to the sports school.<br><br>In connection with the plans to move the regiment to Tsarskoe Selo, in 1914 they began to build a complex of barracks in the form of a fortress in the Rostov style for it. According to the project of V.A.Pokrovsky, it was planned to erect a gateway church between the central towers.
