margaritarosanov<br><br>Shime Jodan (Croatian Šime Đodan; December 27, 1927, Rodalice, near Benkovac, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes – October 2, 2007, Dubrovnik, Croatia) – Croatian statesman, of Defense of Croatia (1991).<br>Biography<br>A participant in the people’s liberation war of Yugoslavia, he was repeatedly wounded. Served as a platoon leader and military commissar.<br><br>In 1949 he graduated from the military-political school in Belgrade, in 1953 – from the Higher Military Artillery Academy. He left military service in 1960 with the rank of lieutenant.<br><br>In 1960 he graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Zagreb, in 1965 he received his doctorate in economics. He taught political economy at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, since 1967 – associate professor. In 1967-1971. headed the literary, scientific and educational society Matica Croatian.<br><br>He was the author of several scientific papers on economics. During the „Croatian Spring” – the author of a high-profile dissertation on the alleged exploitation of Croats in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.<br><br>He was arrested on charges that since 1963 had been the ideologue of the „mass Croatian movement” and was sentenced by the court to six years in prison for . After his release, he taught at the University of Zagreb.<br><br>In 1991-1995. – Member of the Croatian Parliament from the Croatian Democratic Commonwealth. He was the chairman of the parliamentary committee on budget and finance, chairman of the Economic Council of the Republic of Croatia, chairman of the constitutional committee of the parliament.<br><br>In 1991 he headed the Croatian Ministry of Defense. He made a number of statements, the most famous of which is that Serbs have smaller heads and brains compared to other sizes.<br><br>In 1993 he was awarded the military rank of Major General.<br>
