Architecture site analysis is the process of researching and analysing the social, historical, climatic, geographical, legal, and infrastructural characteristics of a given site, and synthesizing these analyses into visual information — usually in the form of site analysis diagrams.

The examination of these characteristics in conjunction with your established project goals are the foundation for making informed decisions throughout the design process, commonly influencing a project’s programmatic realities as well as structural and potentially aesthetic decisions such as shape, form and material.

A user-driven approach to website analysis

We can all agree that it’s important to have a site that ranks well on Google, is fast, and doesn’t have major usability issues. We can also agree that it’s equally important for your business to understand your competitive landscape and maximize the traffic that gets to your website.

Standard website analysis helps you achieve all of the above—with a caveat: it won’t give you a clear competitive advantage because your competitors are doing it, too. They all have access to the same SEO, performance, and traffic tools you use as well.

But here is another form of insight that you can leverage and is 100% unique to your website: your users’ perspective.

Check Your Website’s Search Engine Visibility

Google Search Console is another useful tool to assess the search engine presence of your website. Just sign into your Search Console Account and provide your website’s URL. You will see various ways to add Search Console to your website. Choose “Alternative Methods” and then select “HTML tag.” You will get a code that you need to paste to the header part of your homepage. After that, just click on “verify now.”

Taking What You Learn and Creating an Action Plan

After you’ve gathered all the data, and analyzed it based on your objectives, create an action plan for how you’ll improve your content. This plan could include updating your content strategy, doing a meta data audit and cleanup, adding more topics to your calendar, or changing up some of the formats of planned content.

Ok, now you’re 100 percent ready to do some analyzing. Want to do it faster and reduce the manual work? Check out DivvyHQ—the award-winning content marketing software platform that helps content marketers get more done!
