<br><br>Diocese of Riobamba (lat. Dioecesis Rivibambensis) – the diocese of the Church with the center in the city of Riobamba in Ecuador.<br>Territory<br>The diocese includes the territory of the province of Chimborazo in Ecuador. It is part of the Metropolitanate of Quito. St. Peter’s Cathedral is located in the town of Riobamba. The territory of the diocese is divided into 52 parishes. 67 (40 parish and 27 monastics), 5 deacons, 34 monks, 184 nuns serve in the diocese.<br>Story<br>The Diocese of Bolivar was created on December 29, 1862 on the part of the Diocese (now the Archdiocese) of Cuenca by Pope Pius IX. On August 25, 1955, the diocese was the Diocese of Riobamba.
